Modern man trying to join China’s ancient army

Apparently, China’s ancient military prowess is still inciting such fascination that some modern western man tried to join the Qing dynasty army. I have to say that this German art student planned his enrollment very well since he even made his own cool and authentic-looking uniform!

The most amazing Palm PDA survival story!

I have a $300 Palm Tungsten T3 with a gorgeous slide-out 320 x 480 pixel screen, a powerful 400 MHz Intel XScale processor, and loads of software that turns my T3 into an organizer, a game console, an entertainment player (plays mp3, avi, mpg). It’s literally a computer in your hand. Whenever playing bejeweled, sudoku, chess, or listening to mp3 songs or watching my son’s piano videos, I prefer the handy little technological marvel over iPod or other players for its great versatility.

But like all good things, one day my wonderful PDA died! - Uh, at least I thought so, for an agonizing while.

Once a novel critic

Here’s an article I wrote once critiquing a famous Chinese novel. It is kinda funny, but sorry no translation for non-Chinese-speaking folks ’cause it’d be very hard to do it the right way. That’s partly why no Chinese had won Nobel literature prize until very recently (not that my writing would win anything soon either in Chinese or English :) ).
